Rubber Resistance ® Upper Body |
Introduction This course introduces cutting-edge upper body strength training techniques and concepts using rubberized resistance equipment. Part I reviews strength Training principles, safety and training guidelines. In Part II you will learn 31 different exercises, the correct use of equipment, ideal body alignment and optimal technique. Part III, puts it all together with three program templates for group exercise and three for personal training. The importance of a well-rounded program including aerobic endurance exercise, strength and flexibility training is well recognized. Unfortunately, misconceptions frequently keep people from participating in resistance training programs. Many people mistakenly believe that cardiovascular exercise is the only form of exercise necessary for weight management, yet research has repeatedly demonstrated that resistance training has a positive effect on body composition. Fitness professionals bridge this gap by offering up to date information and accessible, appealing programs. The Part II exercises offer many variations for the same body part, making it easy to find the perfect substitute. The Part III section of this manual provides program templates and exercises suitable for most populations and all fitness levels. The programs are designed so that any of the exercises may be substituted with another. Each template has different goals designed to enhance diverse fitness components. Some of the templates are designed to improve upper body strength/endurance, such as a Circuit Training routine and the Super Set templates for personal trainers. The group exercise Interval Training and Circuit Training programs combine cardiovascular exercise with resistance exercises to improve duel fitness components. The social aspect of working out with a trainer or in a group provides the support needed to stick with it and get the results. Having someone to demonstrate, motivate and check technique can move people beyond their comfort zone to the next level. This is one of the reasons that Personal Training and Group Exercise is so effective at helping people achieve their best. |
